ITINERARY FOR 12N/13 DAYS:- Birding Trip  COST INR.45,000/- PER PERSON AND MINIMUM 5 PEOPLE & Above.

Day 01:  Delhi to Leh  : Arrival at KBR Airport, Leh and transfer to  Hotel/Homestays (Maitreya Residency),A comfortable Homestays for  complete rest  for acclimatization at the  altitude of 3500 meters and evening take walk to H.H.Dalai Lama residenceside,  Mahabodhi Meditation Centre and near by Karmapa Monastery. Take a walk along the Indus river. 

Day 02: Birding trip around the Indus Belt & local area:- Early morning breakfast; we will set for the birding trip along the Indus belt, just opposite to Maitreya Residency;other side  of the Indus river are the most feasible for birding and then we can visit to  Shey &Thiksey marshes. Later drive back for  hot lunch & Overnight at Maitreya Residency a Comfortable Homestays, at Zampa./Hotel at Leh.

Day 03 : Birding day along the Indus river:- Birding around the Indus belt,  lower part of the Indus river, Guphuk, Phey and Spituk bridge  are very good spot for rare and water birds. Ibisbill, One of the most popular  & rare bird Ibisbill and solitary snife can also be seen around here.   

Day 04 : Birding trip around the Lower Indus & Chuchot marshes:-

Day 05 : Leh to Tsokar lake drive for about 170Kms/ 4-5hrs drive:- Early breakfast drive to Tsokar lake area, it is the birding paradise & all the migratory birds and black necked Crane flocked to this spot for few months and fly back., migratory  early May and migrate to other part after mid October every year. Overnight camp/  check in at a small hotel at Tsokar ( it is called Tsokar Resort)  Take a good rest for the day and evening take views of the lake. Overnight here.

Day 06: Full day birding at Tsokar marshes:- Today we will spend  the whole day around the Lakes for birding and capturing the shot  in the camera.  Fair chances of  spotting Argali, Upland Buzzard, Golden Eagle, Black necked Crane, Tibetan Sand gross, Bar Headed Goose, Strip Geese, Ruddy Shelduck, Gadwall, Common Merganser, Red Crested Pochard, Common Kestrel,  Little Owl,  Brown headed Gull etc .Tibetan Wild Ass, Tibetan Wolf and Red Fox are also can be seen.  There is a nest of Staffe eagle.  Overnight  at  hotel at Tsokar. 

Day 07 : IInd Full day at Tsokar lake for briding :-There will be second full day stay at Tsokar lake area since Tsokar lake is a very hot-spot for birding.

Day 08: Tsokar lake to Tsomoriri lake(4520m) and drive about 3-4Hrs:- Drive crossing Polokongka la (4920m) & Namshang la (4800m). We drive watching along the way, stopping at Puga. We have good chances to see Bharal, Himalayan Marmats and Ladakh Urial apart from birds like Bar headed Goose, black Necked Crane etc, Afternoon explore the lake area. Overnight camp/Guesthouse  at Korzok.

Day 09: Explore the day at Tsomoriri lake. 

Day 10: Tsomoriri lake to Hanle via Mahe bridge check post:- Drive to Hanle area Diatance of 160 km, 4-5 hours drive in jeep. Great place to see the Black necked Crane, Tibetan Gazelle. Overnight in Home Stays. If you are a foreigner then, this trip may not possible due to restricted area to Hanle area. For Foreigner birds we will visit to YaYa Tso lake for birding.

Day 11  : Full Day around Hanle:- This day is spent exploring around the areas of Hanle. You will see many birds apart from Desert Wheatear, Horned Lark, Common Merganser . If you are lucky good chance to see Lynx and  Pallas Cat. Overnight in Home Stays.

Day 12 : Hanle to Leh drive:-  Drive to Leh from Hanle, enjoy hot lunch at Chumathang hotspring and then drive further to reach to Leh. Overnight stay at Leh.

Day 13: Leh to Delhi fly out:-  Early morning transfer to Leh airport and fly out to your homeland  with a sweet memories of Ladakh-Himalayas!

Notes: This above  itinerary is specially for domestic birders and foreigner will have slight changes in the itinerary for group  & individual. Since foreigners are not given protected area permits to Hanle area.
